Monday, November 29, 2004 The North Wind & Idol Nonsense
Music: Travis - Sing Why is Singapore Idol a phenomenon? Honestly. Okay maybe its like the first time that we have attempted to have an Idol but so what? So many other countries have already done or are going to do it. And I really cant see why people really vote for sylvester! I mean its not that people who cant stand him dont like him just for his face and his background alone. More likely, it must be the hype over his supposed singing talent. Why does it just happen that those girls who are infatuated with his smile make up over 80% of his supporters? Doesn't it really show the lack of sense that they have in voting for him? A number of news reports have quoted them saying that they vote for him because for his good looks and humbleness(oh really!). And I also recalled this girl saying that he sings very well and that the more the judges find his singing worse, the more she will vote for him! Lets just remember that the winner of Singapore Idol will be going on to World Idol. Honestly, even though I really don't want to be bothered with Singapore Idol anymore, I really dont want our country to be known as the one with the terrible singer. How embarassing to have Sylvester up there! So all those Sylvester fans, get real. And everybody who doesn't like Singapore Idol or support taufik(same here!), please at least do our nation proud >< by at least getting somebody better up onto the international arena. Since we really dont have a choice now that Olinda's out. Do something and erm..... Vote for Taufik! Oh and the North Wind is blowing all over our small little island. The North Wind brings along a lot of memories.. both painful and pleasant. With memories comes nostalgia. And with nostalgia? Oh well. Time to get off the computer. Music: Jamie Cullum - Everlasting Love Okay should get down to blogging now. Today was fun! Had lunch with john, sean and javier at novena fish & co. The service wasnt that good today, well, not as good as it was the other time I was there. Anyway, after that, john had to go off to meet somebody so we went to plaza sing to watch The Incredibles! Again! Actually, I didnt really mind watching it again, although, it was a bit of a waste of money. But watching the second time was as good as the first time! Haha had a great time attempting to imitate Edna Mode and this time there was this really really lame (but funny) Pixar short called 'Boundin'! Okay it was really senseless and stuff but totally hilarious... Pixar must be really bored to create something like that I guess. Anyway, its really quite interesting how javier has never taken the MRT before and so we forced him to! Haha javier's learning more and more new things! XD Speaking of which, he was wearing the Levi jeans that I helped him buy yesterday (details on his blog)! Haha and it was like his first time in 4 years(?) wearing jeans! Its really okay to wear jeans javier! Well today (and yesterday) was fun! Haha well the holidays arent so boring now after all and Christmas shopping should be around the corner! =) On a sidenote, the Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason OST sounds nice! Except for a couple of old songs(Crazy In Love???), there's Dido, Annie Lennox(LOTR!) and Jamie Cullum. Christmas gift maybe? {edit} (OH NO! WHY IS MY SISTER WATCHING THIS RECAP ON SYLVESTER'S IDOL JOURNEY??? YIKES!) Saturday, November 20, 2004 A Blustery Day
Music: Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All Ahhh. Ronan Keating's Greatest Hits!! It just sounds really nice on such a windy morning. And especially since the wind blew the door shut so loudly that I woke up -.- Hmmm it really hasnt been this windy for ages. And its really nice, not too hot or anything either. The weather should be like that EVERYDAY. o.O Well, maybe thats too much to hope for. Anyway, went to watch The Incredibles at cine yesterday! Haha, it was so funny and I really couldnt stop laughing at Edna Mode's yakking. (I laughed even more when I found out later that she was voiced by the male director) Haha the whole concept was very funny. A great twist on the superhero concept with a lot of outrageous action sequences! Then, after that chu and kelvin were incredibly(!) bored and so we ended up walking up and down the entire length of orchard. Haha the things that can happen when you're bored. And chu seems to have an obsession with earrings, ear-piercing etc. She wants me and kelvin to get our ears pierced. o.O" I just love windy days. Argh, why didn't olinda get in? Slyvester cant even sing for his dinner man. If he wins Singapore Idol, I'm gonna change my nationality. Haha if I could. Oh well. Ciao. Wednesday, November 17, 2004 WISHLIST!!1!11!!1!one
Music: The Killers - Somebody Told Meee Okaay, im probably going crazy again. But yesh, somebody inspired me to blog. So I must. I must. Blog. Anyway, i've finally decided to do something I havent done in ages and will probably be doing more often in the future... LISTS!!! And for today, its gonna be a wishlist! Okay, but before I start wasting blog space, I must comment on certain.. issues. Firstly, why does everybody seem to have ONLY watched charlie's angels for the first time on sunday on channel 5? Ahhh... the world needs desparate reviving!! Well thats another dumb assumption but who cares. In other news, I'm finally starting on my morning runs! FOUR times a week, mind you. I bet no other average sane 14-year old adolescent does this!! *With the exception of katrina, my friendly neighbour who runs with me every morning =)) , but normally stops at 2 km while I continue straining my legs until the 5km mark. I think my asics running attire completely rocks the socks off everybody! =) However, such strenous exercise in the morning, when almost every other kid is asleep, rendered my legs totally immobile when I ran for like.. the first time in 3 months? Thankfully I dont have to walk back on crutches after more.. erm... frequent runs. =P Anyway, the amazing race is back on its 6th season tonight! MUST WATCH. Okay, back on track, the WISHLIST in no order of importance (riiight) : >> An iPod, duh! Would rather have iPod Photo but would be content with the original. 15 or 20 GB version would be more than sufficient. Altec Lansing speakers to go with it. Hope there's some discount... >> Go somewhere nice. Like anywhere in Europe except for Romania XD >> A new computer. This compaq presario is getting too cranky. Anything that has at least 40GB, 256MB RAM, a Pentium4 3GHz processor, graphic and sound cards good enough to support most games on the market now. Speakers. REALLY BIG. Okay maybe A425 speakers would be good enough. >> A phone upgrade PLEASE. Mines a 6610 and 2 years old. Contract expiring! A camera phone would be nice. 1 megapixel, bluetooth and all. Samsung or Nokia. >> More CDs please. I still dont have Hopes and Fears!! No 1 Hits, Harmonium, Confessions Special Edition, One Day Remains and Borrowed Heaven! >> More DVD/VCDs please. Might get Spider-man 2 or Troy. Waiting for Mean Girls(!), Bourne Supremacy and The Terminal to come out soon. >> A home theatre system to go with these? >> More books... the Da Vinci Code, Confessions of a Hotel Heiress etc. >> Pick up a new hobby... Its awfully boring now. >> A proper running attire >> MORE CLOTHES. Especially a big, thick, fluffy(err maybe not) jacket for next year's OEP trip to whichever Chinese city. >> And finally, all those taking their O's and A's, wish you all good marks! =) I JUST realised it'd be better if i put this up on the sidebar. =/ Sunday, November 14, 2004 Attemping a sane post
Music: F.I.R. - Lydia Watched Shark Tale a couple of days ago with my sister. The animation was considerably good, similar to Shrek 2's CGI technology i suppose. However the plot was rather shallow, as predicted. The moral themes werent too bad though. I suppose its quite relevant to modern society, like how being at the top isnt what matters most. Anyway, camp was fun, not forgetting that i really didnt get any sleep. 9 hours over 2 nights??? Nevertheless, I had a great time. Don't all korean drama serials have almost exactly the same plot? Like single parents, adopted children, evil stepmothers, stepsisters and even stepuncles. Theres also the necessary car crash, sending the lead actor/actress into a coma for a while and when he/she finally wakes up, he/she gets amnesia and their "destined love one" has to find a way to get back his/her memory. There's also illegal affairs between siblings, adults, fashion designers and whatnot. My mother just loves watching them. Cant be helped. Sigh. I honestly need a mp3 player if my parents arent gonna let me access the computer everyday, 'cause my database of almost a thousand songs is stored in here. My computer is also considerably old. This was bought in 1999? 15GB only? It may sound cheesy, but this calls for A WISHLIST. Saturday, November 06, 2004 A start to a holiday
Music: McFly - 5 Colors in her Hair Somehow this song never fails to remind me of That 70's Show! XD Anyway, havent posted for 2 weeks. Basically I forgot to post because it was either the last week of school(!) or the beginnning of the holidays. So its a very busy transitional period. I havent watched any movie except for Vanity Fair since the end of exams! I mean like there are people who are taking their O levels who have been going out a lot more than me during this period! Haha actually I have been going out, but not shopping or anything. Mostly just to have lunch. Well, a rundown of recent events: 29th October, the last day of school, met chu ting and rachel at Borders. Apparently, they were buying gifts for each other? Haha Christmas isnt here yet, albeit it is approaching though. After that, trooped off to Edo at cine for dinner. Its bad eating only soba and 3 plates of sushi =P Serious lack of nutrition. Theres an uncanny similarity with the events of the last time we went there. The other time, coming from Victoria, people had to rush off halfway eating like daryl and now it was rachel. ANDD, somehow or other jade will appear out of nowhere and comment on how disgusting japanese food is! Deja vu perhaps? Later, chu ting had the warped idea of going to RG Drama Nite. Anyways, walking down orchard at 11+ is great. So little people, bright lights still everywhere, nice strong wind blowing. =D Yesterday was out with javier. Sushi again! This time at sakae though. Something about conveyer belt sushi restaurants... Their service isnt that good actually. People at Edo tend to ignore you and those at Sakae just cant leave your table! Haha anyway javier wanted to find book binders which was at CityLink and being the ditzy blonde, he kept asking whether we were going the right direction and couldnt recognise suntec when we were right in front of the entrance! Lol, anyway i've got ac camp next week. Blogging from my aunt's office now? Sheesh, I never thought that sharon would make a comeback on my blog. How revolting. Okay they're closing now! XD |
